From Spiderman to Madonna!!

This past week was an amazing week that was just packed with birthday busyness!!  Its always a bit tricky when one of my precious family members has a birthday in the midst of a crazy baking week!  Remembering that I am their mom and his wife first is hard to do sometimes.  : )

But.... Molly Ann is my oldest and sweetest (only) daughter!  She is precious and she LOVES Oreo Cookie ice cream cake!  I mean not homemade... but the awesome grocery store kind!  The kind that you pick up the morning of the party and just ask them to put a big red American Girl Star on it that says "Happy Birthday Molly."  She loved it and wow.. that was a blessing to me!  I did however focus on her cute cookies before I hit the ground running with my business busyness!

Happy Birthday Sweet Molly Ann!
I love you!

The week actually started with Spiderman cupcakes on Monday, but I felt it important for Molly to have the "Top Spot" on my page this week.

Buttercream frosted with hand made and hand painted fondant toppers.

Then of course it was Ms. Wilson's birthday and my son's class is lovingly known as "Wilson's Wild Longhorns!"

We had to celebrate with Longhorn Cookies of course!

*************************

And... the last baking project of the week was an Extreme Soccer Party for two sweet 5 year old boys!

48 cookies and a big huge cake!

Lastly.. To end my week..  I was oh so looking forward to seeing Madonna in concert for the first and only time in my life.  I know her shows are amazing and I know her every song from the 80's!  My girlfriend and I were completely surprised by our husbands about 8 months ago with tickets... amazing tickets to see Madonna in concert!!!!  Sooo excited... I finished all my baking projects and Molly's birthday and got up early to watch this....

My middle son - the Wild Longhorn - living his life on the field as he always does...
Extreme, Intense... just Drew... he's the hairless wonder with his foot on the ball

And again.. in the air...

and fighting again... intensity in action!

Then... we found out Madonna was cancelled... Laryngitis.

Soo.. at least this little Ham made me smile and I did get a day and night away with one of my best friends.  Picked out new makeup and had a great relaxing dinner.

Hi there!

Summer flew by and I think just maybe fall is coming....

In Texas its a bit hard to tell when the season's change.  Thankfully we have many warm months of summer that usually extend into October!  I have taken a little bit of a break over the summer from posting.  Many new pictures have been updated and posted on the blog.  Please take a look at the Gallery pages to see the many updates!

Below are a couple of my most recent projects.....

Most recently a friend challenged me with a Peacock Cake for her daughter's 16th birthday.  The picture she sent me made my week!

This is why I do what I do... Yes, the extra money is nice and I do enjoy the crafty creative outlet it provides me, but really... when I see the happiness and joy it brings others... thats it.. thats just it!

My other recent project was an amazing birthday weekend filled with puppies!

When my little sister was young, she always referred to cupcakes as "Pupcakes."  I would say these are truly "Pupcakes!"  Fondant doggy toppers on top of vanilla cupcakes and buttercream frosting.

And then there were more....

A chocolate yummy yummy cake with chocolate filling and topped with a custom handmade marshmallow fondant doggy topper.
Surrounded by more Pupcakes with fondant toppers!

And more...  : )

Spotty Doggy Sparkly Cookies!!

So many cute, fun projects..  and many more to come!

Thanks for taking a few minutes to check out my post and enjoy the new pictures!

Until the next cake!  : )

Happy Mothers Day!

It was a wonderful day!  A day to celebrate being a mom of 3 wonderful, sometimes difficult, amazing children.  I am so blessed with each one.  They are each different and sweet in unique ways.  I love them each and all the same!

Prior to being able to sleep in till 9am this morning and go to the most awesome Foreigner concert at The Backyard in Austin, yesterday I had several orders to complete.

The weekend started with a fun evening at Adorn in Lakeway, http://adornaustin.com/.  My good friends, Brent & Kim Charlet own this cute boutique store and I provided cookies & cupcakes for an event Friday night.  "Cookies & Couture" was a blast.  I made sparkly dresses, purses and high heel shoe cookies for the event.  I also made brightly colored buttercream cupcakes.

On to more fun...

A pretty blue damask birthday cake for a friend's daughter that turned 15.

A ton of Hello Kitty cookies for a 5 year old birthday party.

Lastly I closed the weekend baking out with a birthday cake for an 8 year old ballerina that was having a swimming party!  Happy Birthday Abrianna!

I am so grateful for my kids and that I am a mom.  Grateful to my husband for allowing me to stay home and take care of my family.  Without my kids and my mom, I wouldn't be who I am today!

I love you all!  Happy Mothers Day Mom!

A Weekend of Cakes!

It was a different weekend for me... Usually I have tons of cookie orders and maybe one cake or so... this past weekend was a weekend of CAKES!  It was fun and I was able to organize my time well enough to attend three soccer games, bible study, church and only stay up till 2am one night!  That is tremendous progress for me!  Balance... thats what I am working on.

The cakes were each different and fun!  Just a little fondant and a lot of buttercream...  The events ranged from baby showers to 1st communions to birthdays and even a 30x2 birthday!  (Thats a nicer way to say 60)  I couldn't help myself and had to throw some cookies in the mix so a couple of cake and cupcake toppers were actually made out of cookies.  : )

Sprinkles, Sparkles and some edible images!

Enjoy!

Disney Car's 2 Birthday!

Just completed and delivered yesterday .....

I had such a fun time making these cute cookies and Car's themed cake and cupcakes!  Just lots of ideas that came together to make a fun table display.

I couldn't find a HUGE No. 4 cookie cutter, so I had to improvise with a scalloped edge circle.  Sometimes when you have to improvise, the cutest things occur!  There was even enough room to put the birthday boy's name on each cookie, which is always awesome!

The cake is a moist vanilla cake filled with vanilla buttercream.  The decorations are mostly buttercream with a marshmallow black fondant road and accents.

Enjoy!

Easter Cookie Baking Haulted by Ninjago's ... saved by a Princess

In between my Easter Cookie party and fulfilling Easter orders I had an order for two dozen Lego Ninjago cookies.  The Ninjago's were for two twin 2nd grade boys birthday celebrations.  I think they turned out really cute and my boys were excited to eat a few leftovers!

I also had an order for Crown cookies for a 3rd grade girls party!  What a fun weekend... This week I am back to Easter Cookies!

Easter Cookies and Cupcakes!

Today I had 20 or so of my friends over for an amazing morning!  My sweet friend, Amy, is a Thirty One rep and showed us all of her awesome bags.  Great company... Not to expensive, high quality and tons of cuteness and fun!

I coupled Amy's bags with TONS of my Hand decorated Easter Cookies and cupcakes.  It was a blast.

Cookie bouquets, the cutest mini cookie grab bags perfect for Easter baskets and pink & mint green cupcakes (with sparkles, of course).

Some pictures of the event today....

40 again.... this time .. PINK!

This must be the week for birthdays and celebrations!

These bright pink cupcakes are for a girly 40th birthday celebration.  Two lucky ladies will receive pink buttercream frosted vanilla cupcakes.  They each have a hand decorated and painted crown, miniature white gum paste flowers and funky number 40's on them.  Oh!!  and of course they all have sparkles!  I LOVE sparkles.  I think I have almost every color of sparkles!  I can not help myself but add them to almost every cupcake that leaves my kitchen!

No party is complete without Ghirardelli chocolate cupcakes.  They are sparkled of course and have fondant and royal icing cupcakes as toppers.

Happy birthday Ladies!

Pink Swirl Cake... Happy birthday Arden!

This morning I delivered a really precious Pink swirl cake to a good friend for her daughter's birthday.

Ghirardelli chocolate cake with Ghirardelli chocolate buttercream filling and pink buttercream frosting.  The letters and numbers are made from pink tinted gum paste and hand painted to make them have a silver sheen.

I just love this girly cake!

Happy Friday!

Exciting Week! James is 40!!

This week has been an adjustment for some.  My sweet husband of almost 15 years turned 40 yesterday!  Apparently he was in denial and afraid of what the day might bring... He went back to bed and when I said, "It's going to be a great day," he crawled back under the covers and said, "Are you sure?"

After saying "Happy Birthday" to him over 100 times, (mostly because I sometimes forget until noon,) I think we were off to a great day!  He had requested his favorite dinner which I prepared - Fried Chicken, Mashed potatoes, gravy and broccoli... some of us now have cholesterol problems after that meal... Then ended the day with some fun gifts and a Chocolate Chocolate Ghirardeli Ruffle Cake!  Hard to see much since the cake is pretty much on fire!

Happy Birthday James!!

Girl Scout Fashion Show - SUCCESS!!!!

Last Friday I was honored to provide all the cookies and cupcakes for my daughters amazing girl scout troop.  It was so much fun!  I was absolutely buried in beautiful gum paste (sugar) Gerber Daisys and yummy chocolate and vanilla flavored cupcakes.  Miniature cupcakes and basic regular size ones too.  The cupcakes had mini wrappers and regular size wrappers as well as banner toppers that said, "It's a girl thing!"

The girls had so much fun modeling clothes that they had made from older clothing.  The fashion show benefitted Family Link, a Christian Not for profit company that matches families up with foster children that need homes.  It was an amazing evening.  The girls learned so much and made new friends.  A few of the foster girls said that this was the most fun thing they had ever done.  If we as a troop and group of ladies accomplished just shining a little light for those foster families, then it was a complete Success!

Precious Pink Baby Shower Cookies!! (with a touch of cupcake!)

I was asked to make some baby shower cookies for a baby girl!  I LOVE Pink!  So... combining my love for cupcakes with baby shower cookies I found this wonderful idea and added my own  touch of sparkle.  I am always happy when cookies are ordered with bags & bows.  They look cute and are so easy to hand to each guest at an event or party.  Enjoy!
